In the harbor city, the Palestine Action Group announced a crowd of 30,000 had marched from Hyde Park to another city park in the city center after a planned rally to the iconic venue was banned by the state judicial body last week.

Demonstrations were also held in southern city, Brisbane and Western Australian city on the day of protest to remember 24 months of conflict after militant actions on October 7th, 2023 resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths in Israel.

"In terms of the movement, we'll absolutely continue to demonstrate for Palestinian freedom... for autonomy in the territory, for support to reach and for Palestinians to be able to rebuild Gaza," said an activist.

Mixed Reactions to Truce Arrangement

Numerous demonstrators shared confidence that the agreement could establish stability. Several expressed concerns of the former president's role and urged supporters to maintain pressure on the national authorities to sanction Israel and end the trade in military goods.

A participant, a Palestinian Australian based in Australia, said he wished the arrangement could permit him to assist his senior relative, who is currently in the region without proper healthcare, to the country, and to discover and lay to rest his family members, who have been unaccounted for since that year.

Jewish Australians Conducts Service

Separately, many individuals participated in a Jewish memorial service on the evening in the city's eastern areas to commemorate the two-year mark of the October attacks. Surya McEwen, his injured limb after it was reportedly injured in an incarceration center, shared that limited details were clear about the peace agreement. International aid organisations, including relief organizations, were getting ready to access the territory.

"Given the ongoing conditions where there's a brutal and illegal blockade on the territory," stated the participant, flotilla activists would keep working to transport assistance via water.

Abubakir Rafiq, who returned to Sydney on Friday, gave an moving testimony sharing his captivity experience with 83 other men in an incarceration center.

Leadership Remarks

The NSW Greens MP Jenny Leong informed attendees: "It's unacceptable to permit a situation where American leadership shapes the destiny of Palestinians to be the type of reality we accept."

Another organiser who made the first proposal to protest at the iconic venue asserted that the demonstrators might have securely proceeded to the renowned coastal site. The law enforcement official had earlier informed the court of appeal that the arrangement appeared dangerous.

The organiser stated at the event: "Whenever the law enforcement seeks to prevent our rallies or take us to the supreme court, it wakes up a lot of people... to the importance of gathering and oppose such actions."
