Travelers flying with British Airways are set to enjoy quick connectivity during flights free of charge due to a major partnership with Elon Musk's space firm.

Free and Fast Internet for All

The carrier announced that the free, “fast and dependable” internet provision from SpaceX becomes offered to travelers in economy, business, and premium cabins from next month.

Broad Implementation Throughout Multiple Flight Operators

The holding company of BA, International Airlines Group, announced it had reached an deal involving Starlink for providing wifi access across more than 500 jets across their airlines, such as Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, plus the low-cost airline.

Uninterrupted Connectivity from Gate to Landing

BA explained that this rollout for the technology was part of a multi-billion pound “transformation” initiative and would provide smooth wifi service for passengers starting at the gate through arrival, including when they are flying above seas or remote regions.

Existing Internet Services

Basic internet access is presently provided to BA flyers across the majority of their planes using its .air platform.

Members in BA’s reward scheme are able to send texts plus plain-text correspondence onboard at no cost, while passengers who want to watch audio, video, and content on their travel who are not flying in premium cabins can expect to be charged from £4.99 to £21.99 for one internet plan.
