New England matched their longest winning run from the Brady era as they beat AFC East opponents the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a touchdown, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the Patriots lead at the top of the division as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to conclude the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots answered in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third period to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side sealed the triumph
